Zone Diet Calculator

Zone Diet Calculator
Zone Diet Calculator

Before we come to the Zone diet calculator we need to know about Zone diet. Zone diet was created by Dr. Barry Sears, a former research scientist at the Boston University School of Medicine and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His diet helped control the Insulin level in the body. This excellent diet is based on the 40:30:30 ratio of food constituents. The food we eat must ideally be in the ratio 40% carbohydrates, 30% fat, and 30% protein. This will keep our Insulin at the optimum level.

The diet calculator is needed as every person is built differently; has a different weight, different size, and a different shape. The body has different needs as far as food is concerned. The idea behind Zone diet is to lose weight and stay healthy. This diet recommends that the protein you consume be fat free. Skinless chicken breast, lean meat - preferably grilled, or fish is recommended as ideal protein. Carbohydrates also need to consist of low starch fruits and/or vegetables. Heart friendly monounsaturated fat, such as in almonds is considered ideal.

What You Need To Know

To calculate an individual's protein requirement certain information is needed. You also need to know how many Zone blocks you need to consume in a single day. Zone blocks help find out the Right Portion of the meal required for the body. Depending on an individual's weight, height, and waist and hip circumferences on an average:

·        A man's intake is 14 Zone food blocks per day
·        A woman's intake is 11 Zone food blocks per day

3 mini blocks, each of carbohydrates, proteins, and fat, make up one Zone block. Each mini block consists of: 7 grams of Protein; 9 grams of Carbohydrates; and 1.5 grams of fat.

For the Zone diet calculator all measurements are taken in inches and on the bare skin. There is a different criterion for men and women. Women need to furnish their Weight (in lbs), Height, Abdomen, and Hips measurements. Men need to furnish their Weight (in lbs), Height, Waist, and Wrist measurements. Both also need to furnish their Activity factor, such as: sedentary, light, moderate, active, very active, elite athlete.

Once the above information is furnished, the diet calculator supplies the following information:

·        Body Fat %
·        Body fat Weight (lbs)
·        Lean Body Mass (lbs)
·        Daily Protein Requirement (g)
·        # of Blocks of protein
·        # of Blocks of Carbohydrate
·        # of Blocks of Fat

Now that your diet requirements have been calculated you know how much protein, carbohydrate and fat you will require in your daily meals.

Though Zone diet is a great way to control your weight and get back into shape, you need to continue after you have achieved what you started out to achieve. Ensure you do not stop and go back to your previous eating habits. Now that you have discarded those habits let them remain discarded.

Let the Zone diet be your only diet; let it be your lifestyle change.

Flat Abs Diet Tips And Tricks

diet tips and tricks
diet tips and tricks

Many people try to lose belly fat and get flat and sexy abs. People workout as hard they can, do tons of cardio, lift weights like crazy, and do countless sit-ups, but they still have that stubborn layer of fat clinging to their stomach covering their abs. Why is this happening?

In many cases, the missing link is not found in the gym but in the kitchen. So what makes up a good flat abs diet? What tips can I give you? There are many tips, and some of them are truly confusing. I will try to stick to simple and basic tricks since they can make a lot of difference and don't require any special effort on your part.

Flat Stomach Diet Tips and Tricks
1. Always stop eating before you're full - Our body has this mechanism in which it takes about 20 minutes to understand we've had enough. This means that you need to stop eating while you're still feeling hungry. This will help you keep your overall calorie intake down.

2. Eat small meals throughout the day - Your metabolism has everything to do with the amount of calories that you burn each day. To keep a high metabolic level all day, you need to eat small amounts through the day instead of eating 3 large meals.

3. Fresh, fresh, fresh - If you're going to workout and burn the most fat that you can get, you need to feed yourself in the right way. One of the best flat tummy diet tips that I can give you is to eat fresh food as a rule. Anything that's not fresh has been tampered with. Fresh doesn't mean uncooked. You can cook fresh groceries. However, anything that's canned, comes in a box and has been preprepared, needs just warming and so on, may be full of chemicals, additives, industrialized fat, and other awful things you don't want in your body. By eating fresh you maintain a healthy body and help it to burn more calories and belly fat.

The Importance of Calculating Body Mass Index

calculating body mass index
calculating body mass index

Calculating body mass index or BMI is one of the basic concepts that one should know in order to stay fit and maintain an ideal body weight. In this day and age where we are always faced with different types of diseases, we need to exert an effort to stay fit and healthy at all times, especially if we want to be with our loved ones longer. There are different ways to stay fit and healthy, and one of which is by staying within one's ideal weight range. However, it is not proper to say if someone is obese or not just by basing it on weight.

BMI determines the relationship between height and weight, thus determining if we are within the ideal weight based on our height. Calculating weight as a proportion of our height is crucial in determining whether someone is underweight, obese, or overweight. BMI is used by health professionals all over the world in order to determine the most appropriate dietary recommendations for their clients and patients. Thus, if one has the knowledge on how this number is calculated, one will be able to easily monitor or track if he or she is making any progress towards achieving the ideal weight for his or her height.

Calculating body mass index is very easy. The first step is to identify one's weight and height. Another important thing to consider is using the appropriate measurement units in order to get accurate results. For instance, if one is using standard units of measurements, it should be used for both weight and height. If one prefers using metric units, then it should be applied to both measurements. Thus, if height is measured using inches or feet, weight should be measured in pounds. If height is measured through centimeters or meters, weight should be measured in kilograms. Choosing the wrong combination will read to inaccurate results.

Once the correct weight and height has been identified, one can easily go online, look for an automated BMI calculator and input the numbers to get the accurate figure. The formula for getting the number is dependent on what unit of measurement one is using. For instance, when getting the number using kilograms and meters, the formula will be as follows: weight divided by the square of the height. The formula will slightly vary using pounds and feet, but the logic is the same. The weight is measured depending on one's height. The ideal BMI result is within 18.5 to 24.9.

Calculating body mass index is only the first step towards staying healthy. It is just an indicator as what needs to be done next. If one is underweight, then there is a need to eat more and build muscles. If one is overweight, changes may be needed in one's lifestyle or diet in order to lose unwanted pounds and fats. Staying healthy is a continuous effort that one should always have time for. If we stay healthy and take care of our body, we will be able to enjoy life to the fullest and give more time to our friends and loved ones.

Quick and Easy Diet Plans - 3 Simple Tips For Weight Loss

Quick and Easy Diet Plans
Quick and Easy Diet Plans

In order to be successful at dieting you must first not call it a diet. This alone can be very distracting and can also sabotage your diet efforts. To be successful in any diet aiming for weight loss, a good rule of thumb is deciding that you want to change your eating habits for your health. By doing this, long term weight loss success is achievable. It will not seem like a punishment, but more like a reward.

Since dieting has become more of necessity than ever before, most people are now looking for quick and easy diet plans where they can be successful. The best diet plans are ones that do not feel like diets.

Here are 3 simple tips for weight loss:
1. Drink lots of water. Water aids in hydration as well as moving our food through the digestive system and out of our bodies. It is an essential step toward losing weight.

2. You must make sure to eat healthy fats in order to lose weight. If you are looking for quick and easy diet plans, then this is a key step in those plans. Fat keeps you feeling full and helps you to avoid adding more calories to your diet or eating empty calories too often. Aim for healthy fats only, and you will see a difference in your weight loss right away. Add olive oil, coconut oil, avocados, nuts, seeds, almond butter, salmon and egg yolks.

3. Eat foods that contain fiber. Good sources of fiber are fruits and vegetables first as well as whole grains. Choose fruits that you enjoy and be sure to have them in the house at all times so you do not make poor food choices. Be sure to read labels and add lots of fiber to your diet.

Fiber acts as an excellent addition to your quick and easy diet plans because when ingesting fiber, other matter in your intestinal track will cling to it and be eliminated. This makes a great difference in weight loss. Aim for 50 - 100 grams of fiber per day.

Enjoy your weight loss efforts and think of it as a life style change rather than you depriving yourself. If you look upon it this way you will be very successful in your efforts to change your eating habits and thus lose weight. Go ahead and add these 3 important steps, and see how simple your quick and easy diet plans are now within your reach.

Black Tea Benefits

black tea benefits
black tea benefits

Black tea is a kind of fermented tea, originating from green tea after it is mixed, kneaded, fermented, dried and otherwise processed. The water of green tea is freshly green while that of black tea is orange red. Differences are not only skin-deep. What is more important is that black tea doesn"t undergo the processes of steaming green or frying green, but is fermented. In the fermentation process, EGCG which is a powerful anti-oxidant, has been converted into other compounds. So some researchers assumed black tea benefits are less than green tea. Is it true?

Does black tea have less benefits than green tea?
No evidences can prove that. Black tea contains its "private weapon" - theaflavins and thearubigens, which are also believed to provide health benefits. It's difficult to prove which is better.

What are the benefits of black tea?
Recent research results of black tea are published in the leading medical journals, including Journal of the American Heart Association, Chicago College of Dentistry. The results declared black tea had benefits of preventing cancer, heart disease, cavities, arthritis and viruses. It also boosts immune system.

How does black tea benefit your health?
Prevent cancer. Black tea contains a compound called theaflavin-3-monogallate (TF-2). It is one of anti-cancer compounds family called polyphonols. TF-2 fights against colon cancer cells. It leads cancer cells to "commit suicide" in droves. Read more in Black Tea Benefit - Prevent Cancer.

Prevent Heart Disease. As green tea, black tea also contains antioxidants to neutralize harmful effects of natural chemical processes. A research result published in Journal of American Heart Association in 2001 found effect of black tea. It found black tea might strength ability of endothelial cells lining blood vessels. It help regulate flow of blood. Read more in Black Tea Benefit - Protect Against Heart Disease.

Prevent tooth decay. Black tea contains fluorin element. Fluoride Ion combines with calcium in the tooth and become Ne apatite. It adheres to the teeth to defend acid. Read more in Black Tea Benefit - Fights Cavities.

Prevent Viruses. Research results showed black tea can neutralize germs, including which cause diarrhea, herpes, pneumonia, cystitis and skin infections. Milton Schiffenbauer from Pace University also proved that drinking black tea wiped out viruses in our mouth.
Why black tea is so popular? I guess black tea benefits are important facts, not just taste.:)
